FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How far in advance do I need to book my cake?
Your handcrafted bespoke cake is made to order with special time and attention given to ensure the best creative process. A limited amount of orders is reserved several weeks in advance, so I would recommend booking in as soon as you know the date of your event. A good guide would be 2-4 weeks in advance, although I may be able to squeeze in short notice bookings. Be sure to ask as I would hate to disappoint you!
How do I place an order?
Simply fill out the cake enquiry form on the Contact page, or if you’re sending an email to email@example.com, please provide as much detail as you can regarding:
the date and number of guests you will have at your event,
will your cake be the centerpiece dessert or will it be served with other sweets,
a description of what you have in mind and any pictures that you may have as inspiration.
Once you are happy with the cake order details, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required straight away via bank transfer to proceed with a booking and secure the date for your event. The final payment is then due 14 days prior to your event. For short notice orders of 2 weeks or less, full payment is required at the time of booking. Any changes made to your confirmed order may be subject to additional charges.
Where are you located?

Yes! Cake collection is from Newport, Melbourne at a mutually agreed pick-up time.
Your cake will be refrigerated until time of collection and should be transported in a cold, air-conditioned vehicle. It is important that your cake has somewhere flat to rest like the floor in front of the passenger seat. The cake will come packaged with cake boards fitted securely to the box to ensure minimal movement during transportation.
ildilicious Cakes & Co. does not accept responsibility for any loss or damage to your cake after pick-up.
do you offer delivery?
Yes, delivery can be arranged dependent on availability at an additional cost. The delivery fee will be calculated based on distance from Newport, Melbourne. This will be included in your quote if you require this service.
How do I look after my cake?
Once home, the cake can remain out of the refrigerator for up to 4 hours. If storing it in the fridge, be sure to bring the cake to room temperature for at least 1-2 hours before serving to ensure the best possible flavour! The cake is best displayed in an air-conditioned room and away from direct sunlight.
what if I have an allergy?
Whilst I am happy to accommodate your request please note that gluten, nuts, soy and dairy are all used regularly in the kitchen, so there is no guarantee that any of the cakes or desserts will be allergen friendly. All special dietary products are not guaranteed suitable for allergies, and are suitable for intolerances only.
What are the different types of servings?
Different types of portions depend on how your cake is served at your event.
If your cake is the centrepiece dessert it will require dessert portions typically 1"x2".
Or if your cake will be served along with other sweets it will require coffee portions typically 1"x1".
Do you offer tastings?
Do you offer fondant cakes?
I don't work with sugarpaste, so I'm not your lady for fondant covered cakes. However, there's usually a way for me to create the cake you have in mind if you are open to suggestions and alternatives, so don't let that stop you from enquiring.
